General Problems
If there is a swelling or pain in your mouth…..pain is always a warning sign that something is wrong and needs professional examination.  Swelling may be a sign of infection which need antibiotics.  If you are an existing patient of Dr. Kellar’s she can call in a prescription to your pharmacy.  Call Dr. Kellar and make an appointment with her as soon as possible.

Jaw Problems
If you have pain in your jaw…you might have TMJ.  Schedule an appointment with Dr. Kellar for correct diagnosis.  Most patients recall the even that caused the problem, like yawning, chewing, or biting into a food substance.  The pain is usually a dull aching or throbbing sensation, made worse with jaw opening.  Dr. Kellar can prescribe the correct treatment or medication after a correct diagnosis.

If you are grinding or clenching your jaw…you may need a night guard to protect your teeth from breaking and to relieve the pain.  Dr. Kellar can fit you for a night guard in one appointment!

Tooth Problems
Broken or knocked out teeth can be saved!  Place the broken pieces or knocked out tooth in milk or water.  If needed, apply an ice pack to the area of the face experiencing pain.  Page Dr. Kellar IMMEDIATELY and schedule an emergency appointment.
