Oral Cancer Screening

Tobacco (in any form) and alcohol are risk factors for oral cancer. However, oral cancer can also strike non-smokers and teetotalers. Dr. Kellar examines every patient for oral cancer at the cleaning appointment. She notes changes in the color of the gums, lump, bumps or anything that looks out of the ordinary in the tongue, lips and cheeks. By monitoring your intraoral health she is able to notice any unusual change while it is still small and easily treated. A cancer survivor herself, Dr. Kellar realizes the importance of early diagnosis.
